Storyboard Text

  • Thank you so much for taking me out for ice cream!!
  • You are very welcome. Would you like to eat inside or outside?
  • My ice cream is so cold, I have a brain freeze! Can we eat where it's warmer?
  • If we go outside your ice cream can thaw, but I'm warning you, eat your ice cream quickly or it will melt.
  • Why will the ice cream melt if we go outside?
  • Well, when the thermal energy of an object increases, the particles vibrate and break free from their positions, which causes the solid ice cream to turn into a liquid
  • Right!
  • Okay that makes sense. So if there is more thermal energy, my ice cream will melt!
  • It also works the other way around. A decrease in temperature will cause liquid to freeze!
  • Cool! (Pardon the Pun)
  • It's okay let's go inside and buy you another one.
  • My ice cream melted. Guess you were right.
