Around 4 o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, November 27, 1901, Wabash Railway Company Train #13 left Detroit heading west with almost 200 passengers. About 150 of them were Italian immigrants, who were heading out to work in the mines in Colorado.
One of those on board was Giovanni Folonaro, who wasn’t even 18 years old yet.....
They came from Northern Italy on the steamer La Campania
Train #13 was a combination of cars from Buffalo, New York and New York City, ....
The train got as far as Milan, Michigan .....
Also traveling that day was eastbound Train #4, also known as the Continental Limited
