  • The story of "The Devil and Tom Walker" takes place in a forest outside Boston. There was a story that said that there was a treasure protected by the devil himself Tom Walker and his wife live near this area. They are both greedy and would give up anything just for money
  • CLIMAX
  • KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
  • One day, Tom Walker was returning home through a shortcut in the forest. Tom decides to rest and sat down on a tree, as he rested, he dug into the earth with a stick. Toms stick hit something hard, and he dug it out of the earth. It was a human skull with an Indian an ax through it. Suddenly, Tom Walker come across the Devil or Old Scratch. This offer Tom Walker a treasure in return of his soul
  • FALLING ACTION
  • Tom Walker goes home to think about the deal. He tells his wife what happened . She argues him to accept the deal. However he says not, angry his wife leaves the house to deal with the devil herself. She doesn't return home, Tom Walker find out she is dead after he finds her heart and liver. He ends up accepting the deal and becomes the usurer of Boston
  • RESOLUTION
  • Tom become very wealthy however he regrets making the deal with the Devil. He tries to fix it by reading the bible and having it with him all the time, he also attend church however he remains being the greedy man he was before. One day he hear three Knocks on the door of his house.
  • He opened the door. There was Old Scratch holding a black horse. The Devil says "Tom, I have come for you." He picked up Tom and put him on the horse. Then he hit the horse, which ran off, carrying Tom. All Tom's property burned to ashes.
  • The neighboring swamp and old Indian fort are often haunted in stormy nights by a figure on horseback, in morning-gown and white cap, which is doubtless the troubled spirit of the usure
