Independence Hall, Philadelphia
On September 3rd 1783 the declaration of Independence was signed by: Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and Edward Rutledge.
The construction of Independence hall was started in 1732 but was not completed until 1753.
The Declaration of Independence was signed in the 'Assembly Room' (here).
Not only was the Declaration of Independence signed here, but Abraham was also elected in this room in 1860.
During the debate over independence the Window of the Hall were shut even in the Summer to stop people from Eavesdropping.
Also For a short time the Basement was used as the cities dog pound.
