  • Yes, and in the following scenes, we will show how Greek democracy came to be.

  • A long time ago... In Greece, there were MANY city-states
  • Due to the fact that the city-states were independent, each city-state had its own way of governing its citizens.
  • 2000 B.C. - 1200 B.C.
  • THE fourth way was a tyranny. A powerful person who has to SEIZE the power.
  • GET ME MY CHEESE AND WINE!
  • One way of governing was a monarchy. A government that is ruled by a single person. Such as a king.
  • The second way was an aristocracy, a government ruled by a small group of elite. Landowning families.
  • Another way was an oligarchy. It was ruled by a few BUT there isn't a royal family.
  • Democracy is a form of government in which citizens have a direct role in governing.
