Storyboard Text

  • Good morning kids! Today we are going to go to a glass recycling factory and tour it so we can learn about recycling glass!
  • LET'S GO!
  • Who knows what glass is?
  • You are right!
  • Isn't it a hard, brittle substance, typically transparent or translucent, made by fusing sand with soda, lime, and sometimes other ingredients by cooling rapidly and used to make windows, drinking containers, and other articles?
  • Hello everyone and welcome to our glass recycling facility. Before we begin, I will tell you some of the benefits of glass recycling!
  • Some awesome benefits of recycling are how it conserves the landscape, it reduces landfill wast, and can also create employment!
  • WOW! Thats awesome!
  • Well let's get going with our tour!
  • I know right!?
  • This is where all the glass comes in from being sorted and gets washed. It will then be sent from here over to the area where it will then be crushed.
  • Welcome to the crushing room everyone! This is where we take the sorted and washed glass and crush it so it can then be melted in the next room. We can't go in that room though because it is very hot and dangerous!
  • Alright every body! This is where all of the melted glass comes out of the oven to get shaped and molded! Does anybody have any questions before the tour ends?
  • Nope
