England sponsors his first trip ,which is a scientific voyage, to search the south pacific for signs of postulated rich southern continent of Terra Australis.
On his first voyage, he sailed to New Zealand and mapped out the entire coastline.
On Cook's second voyage, he came across Australia and mapped out its eastern coastline.
Also, in his second voyage he came across South Georgia, and claimed it in England's name.
At the end of his second voyage he almost encountered the coast of Antarctica.
In his third and final voyage, he and his crew came to the islands of Hawaii, where he was killed by the natives.
