A giant Cobra floated on the waters. Asleep within its endless coils lay the Lord Vishnu.
It's time to begin! Create the world!
Vishnu waked up from a sound of Ohm. From his navel grew a Lotus Flower. In the middle of the flower sat Vishnu's servant Brahma, the god of creation.
Wind swept up the waters. Vishnu vanished but Brahma remained in the lotus and calmed the wind and the ocean.
Brahma split the lotus flower into three parts. One part into he stretched into heavens, the other he made into earth and the last one he made into sky.
The earth was empty so Brahma created the trees, plants and flowers and gave feelings. Next he created animals and insects and gave these the sense of smell and touch, the power to see, hear and move.
The world was soon full of life and the air was filled with the sound of Brahma's creation.
