  • Characterization
  •                 Symbolism
  • Flash Back
  • There are many times the book where characterization is used. Right in the beginning, Daniel id being described in a clear picture. "He was a tall boy, with little trace of youth in his lean, hard body... unmistakably a Galilean, with the bold features of his countrymen"(1).
  • Imagery
  • In The Bronze Bow, there is a repeating symbol that appears over and over again. From the title of the book actually. "He trains my handes for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze..."(88).
  • Theme
  • In the introduction, flash back is used to show that Daniel ran from home to escape a certain person from his past. "'No one blamed you,' said Joel Quickly. 'Everyone knows how Amalek treats his boys'"(4)

  • The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth speare
  • The author, Elizabeth George Speare, doesn't use imagery very much. But the instance where she does is near the end of the book "'Will there ever be an end to it- the hate and killing?'"(231).
  • The theme of the story is that if you believe in something you need to fight for your right to keep it. "He says that the kingdom is at hand"(177).
  • This is the slide where I have my citations.
  • And a special thank to Mrs.Hughes for making me do this
