Storyboard Text

  • King Acrisius is told the prophecy of his grandson.
  • Danae is locked in a bronze tower.
  • Zeus appears to Danae.
  • The Oracle of Apollo tells King Acrisius that his daughter, Danae, would bear a son that would kill him in future.
  • Acrisius finds out about Perseus.
  • King Acrisius feared the wrath of the gods, so he chose to lock his daughter in a bronze tower to prevent the prophecy rather than kill her.
  • Polydectes finds Danae and Perseus.
  • Zeus appeared as a bright light and found Danae in the tower and knew she would bear him a son, Perseus. He also turned the horrible prison into beautiful fields.
  • Polydectes wants to get rid of Perseus.
  • Acrisius saw the light coming out of the window and had his man tear down the walls of the tower. He saw Danae holding the child and when she said the father was Zeus he didn't believe her.
  • Acrisius feared the prophecy would come true so he sent Danae and her child out to see in a large trunk. Somehow the two arrived safely on the island of Seriphos where Polydectes ruled.
  • Polydectes wanted to marry Danae but when she refused, he wanted to get rid of Perseus. He devised a plan to pretend to marry his friend's daughter and when Perseus didn't bring them a gift, he would tell him to bring back the head of Medusa instead.
