Golden apple (marked for the Fairest)
Eris was naturally not popular. Therefore she did not get invited to King Peleus ant the sea nymph Thetis wedding. She was so angry that she threw a gold apple into the wedding marked for the Fairest(to start drama with the goddesses).
The three goddess had asked Zeus to judge between them, but very wisely he refuse to have anything do with the matter. So he had told them that Prince Paris/Alexander was a good judge and to go ask him
They arrived and told the prince what they were there for
Hera promised to make him Lord of Europe and Asia; Athena, that he would lead the Trojans to victory against the Greeks and lay Greece in ruins; Aphrodite, that the fairest women in all the world be his.
The Prince had to think of it to see who he should chose
Paris, a weakling and something of a coward, too, as later events showed, chose the last .He gave Aphrodite the golden apple. That was the Judgment of Paris, famed everywhere as the real reason why the Trojan War was fough
