Jackson's Response: Jackson made congress sign a lower tariff because the southern economy was failing.
Nullification Crisis: The tensions began to rise between those for and against the new tariff.
Northerners: Depended on basically manufacturing and mostly supported tariffs.
Southerners: depended on agriculture and were against tariffs because it would make it more expensive to ship goods.
Westerners: Had an emerging economy and depend on land sale for profit and were mostly for tariffs
