Ionic compounds form by completely transferring thier valence electrons.
Covalent compounds form by the sharing between atoms.
These compounds share atoms, causing the compounds to form.

Examples of colavent compounds include H2O (water), Carbon Dioxide (C2O), and Ammonia.

Examples of Ionic compounds include sodium iodine, Potassium iodine, and calcium oxide.
