Storyboard Text

  • Two Harappan citizens discuss how the monsoons will affect their agriculture.
  • This will help with the silt. It can become hot, since we live just West of the Thar Desert.
  • We see the Himalayan mountain range in the background and the Indus River in the foreground.
  • These monsoons are wild. They should help the crops!
  • A Brahmin priest is chatting with a Vaishya, as a Dalit prays in the background.
  • How are you doing on your Eightfold Path?
  • Very well, but I struggle with meditation.
  • In a market, in the middle of Mohenjo-Daro, a weaver attempts to sell his baskets.
  • He is glad that the surplus of crops has allowed him to specialize in basket weaving.
  • We see a Brahmin priest reading one of the important Vedas
  • Just outside the city, Sudras farm the land with animals as helpers.
  • The cotton grows as the rich silt from the flooded Indus River allows for a surplus of crops. All the while the monsoon rages across the land.
