Storyboard Text

  • Nature acts as a soothing, healing force.
  • We passed a fortnight in these perambulations: my health and spirits had long been restored, and they gained additional strength from the salubrious air I breathed, the natural incidents of our progress
  • I remained two days at Lausanne, in this painful state of mind. I contemplated the lake: the waters were placid; all around was calm, and the snowy mountains, "the palaces of nature," were not changed. By degrees the calm and heavenly scene restored me, and I continued my journey towards Geneva.
  • What became of me? I know not; I lost sensation, and chains and darkness were the only objects that pressed upon me. Sometimes, indeed, I dreamt that I wandered in flowery meadows and pleasant vales with the friends of my youth
  • "Frankenstein! you belong then to my enemy--to him towards whom I have sworn eternal revenge; you shall be my first victim."
  • I will revenge my injuries; if I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear, and chiefly towards you my archenemy, because my creator, do I swear inextinguishable hatred.
  • The nearer I approached to your habitation, the more deeply did I feel the spirit of revenge enkindled in my heart.
