The Lord of The Flies first begins with a large and crucial event. A group of young school boys end up deserted on a mysterious island after their plane crashes. Once the boys reach the island, they find a conch shell which becomes their symbol and means for order within their group.
One day, while in the forest glade, Simon comes to a realization that the Lord of the Flies is not a physical being but rather a dark something that now exists within each of the boys. When Simon returns to the group to tell them about his realization, they attack him and brutally kill him.
The conflict within the Lord of The Flies is finally resolved when Ralph is running to the beach to get away from Jack. While on the beach they run into a Naval Officer. Ralph tries to explain to the officer what happened but then begins to cry. Once the other boys come they also begin to cry.
