  • These taxes are absolutely preposterous. 
  • The quartering act was were the colonists had to house and feed the British troops without pay. The colonists started groups of secret societies. 
  • Stamp Act -1765-
  • Sorry kiddo. 
  • The writs of Assistance made any British officer able to search any building or ship they suspected to hold smuggled goods. The colonists felt they had no more privacy .
  • Declaratory Act   -1766-

  • The sugar act also known as the American revenue act was the increase of tax on molasses by six cents. Colonists felt that the tax was outragous. 
  • Townshed Acts -1767-

  • This act imposed taxes on all paper goods and it was the first internal tax levied by British goverment at the colonies. The colonists were very frustrated at the new taxes
  • I can't buy my papa his birthday card because the new stamp act. 
  • It stated that Britain still had taxing power in the colonies. The colonists were to busy celebrating the repeal of the stamp and sugar act to notice the new act.
  • The Townshed acts were a series of acts put out by Britain named after Charrles Townshed. The colonists didnt want to be part of Great Britain and they revolted.
