Carlson: "If you was to take him out and shoot him right in the back of the head right there, why he'd never know what hit him"
George: "Leggo his hand, Lennie. Leggo. Slim come help me while the guy got any hand left.
Crooks: "I said s'pose George don't come back no more. S'pose he took a powder and just ain't coming back. What'll you do then?"
George: "He won't do that. George wouldn't do nothing like that. I been with George a long time, He'll come back tonight."
Lennie: "Dont you go yellin', he said, and he shook her; and her body flopped like a fish and then she was still, Lennie had broken her neck."
Lennie: "I done a bad thing. I have done another bad thing."
Lennie: Le's get that place now. George: Sure, right now. I gotta. We gotta. (George raised the gun and steadied it, and he brought the muzzle of it close to the back of Lennie's head. The hand shook violently, but his set and his hand steadied. He pulled the trigger.)
Lennie: "I di'n't forget, you bet, God damn. Hide in the brush an' wait for George."
