upon the Boers. They now decided that a local white community was in charge of self-governing South Africa. Only 7 years after the Union of South Africa was created to bring independence from the whites who governed them. They worked hard for countless years towards their goal of becoming independent. And on December 11th, 1931, South Africa was forever declared independent from Britain.
