- Dally explained, "we have a spy now a soc here name was sherry."
- "Cherry," Pony boy and Johnny exclaimed.
- "Oh man, I must have left a cigarette burning!"
- " It sure is hot in here," Ponyboy muttered.
- "Wah, Wah!!" the kids cried.
- Johnny and Ponyboy were as shocked to hear from Dallas that Cherry was a spy for the greasers as an electric eel. Johnny was considering turning himself in.
- Dally, Johnny and Ponyboy see a fire at the church. They realize it was them who started it. Johnny proclaims "we have to go in and see if anyone is inside!" Then Ponyboy agrees "Let's go inside."
- "Where am I, Where are my friends!" Ponyboy demands.
- "They are in the other ambulance its okay relax," Jerry spoke softly.
- Ponyboy and Johnny gallantly scramble to save the kids before the fire goes completely out of control and lives are lost.
- "It is so good to see you Ponyboy, we missed you so much," Darry and Sodapop stated close to tears.
- BOOM! A piece of the building falls down. Everyone is out except for Johnny who is stuck inside. Ponyboy passes out not knowing what is happening to Johnny.
- Ponyboy and Jerry talk for a while. Ponyboy gathers that Johnny is the most injured and has serious burns. Jerry tells Ponyboy "you will need to go to the hospital to be checked to ensure you are OK."
- Ponyboy was so happy to see Sodapop and was nervous to see Darry until he saw that Darry was close to tears, then the brothers cried, talked and hugged. Ponboy knew where he was going, he was going home and he was going to stay home.
