Storyboard Text

  • I'll rather kill myself
  • Oh please! My hour is come. Hold my sword for me to run into.
  • Shall I do such a deed?
  • Not so my lord
  • Farewell to you; and you; and you, Volumnius. Strato, thou hast been all this while asleep. My heart doth joy that yet in all my life I found no man but he was true to me. I shall have glory by this losing day more than Octavius and Mark Anthony by this vile conquest shall attain unto.
  • ZZZZ
  • I prithee, Strato, stay thou by thy lord... Hold then my sword and turn away thy face while I do run upon it.
  • Give me your hand first. Fare you well my lord.
  • Brutus asked Clitus, Dardanius, and Volumnius separately, to kill him.
  • Brutus makes his goodbye speech to Clitus, Dardanius, Volumnius, and sleeping Strato. All but Brutus and Strato leave.
  • I held the sword, and he did run on it.
  • How died my master, Strato?
  • Strato wakes and Brutus begs him to hold the sword out. Strato doesn't want to, but agrees.
  • Within my tent his bones tonight shall lie most like a soldier, order'd honourably
  • This was the noblest Roman of them all...his life was gentle, and the elements...and say to all the world, "This was a man."
  • Strato holds the sword out, Brutus runs and dies
  • Anthony, Octavius, Messala, and Lucilius enter and see Brutus dead
  • Anthony and Octavius make speeches over Brutus
