George Washington, general,during the Revolutionary War, was called upon to take part in the Constitutional Convention.
At the Convention, he was elected to lead the discussions. After the Convention concluded, he was chosen to be the first President.
Alexander Hamilton was the delegate elected from Virginia. He was one of the delegates that pushed for a new constitution.
Alexander proposed the Virginia Plan, the first document that attempted to change the Articles of Confederation.
