She is so beautiful and gracefull I want to marry her.
He thought he could beat me.
Atlanta was left alone because her father wanted a boy, not a girl. A bear found her and took pity on the young girl she lived like a bear eating berries and honey.
A lot of young men were struck by her grace and beauty and wanted her for their wife. Atlanta grew angry as the men bothered her so she decided to challenge them to a race.
If they won they would have her for their wife if they lost they would lose their life. No one had beaten Atlanta and all of them lost their lives one day, a young stranger Hipponomes was appalled to see how these men were being treated but when he saw Atlanta run him also fell in love with Atlanta. Atlanta did not want to beat Hipponomes but she would not surrender her pride.
