My name is Josef Litwak. I was born in Dolina a town in Poland. My family is Jewish. I grew up and married Mina Shaerf. Then I worked at the family-owned bank.
On June 30, 1941 Germany invade Poland. My family and I were forced to live in a ghetto. Food was limited and the choices were not in the Jewish dietary. Therefore, I chose not to eat. I was weak and hungry, but followed my religious beliefs.
In August 1942, the German soldiers rounded up most of the people in the ghetto. My wife was taken so I went with her. We were sent to an extermination camp in Belzec. I died at the age of 61.
