Storyboard Text

  • Many obstacles had been faced when my family decided to travel to a different country. Starting from visas, procedures taking too long and currency to missing the family.  Each obstacle made the task of migrating more and more difficult.
  • Customs!
  • My family had decided that they were going to now spend the rest of their lives in New Zealand. But this meant having to leave behind family and friends. Most importantly because my family wasn't born in New Zealand they would now have to go through the dreadful process of migration! My family stated that "the procedure took too long and was very time-consuming".  This was holding them back from actually being able to reach the destination itself.
  • 2003 (The year my family migrated) in India!  "We were not influenced to migrate because of what was happening at that time, we purely moved for a better life itself" stated by my father. Overall this sums up what happened throughout the year. Aero-Indian Show held in Bangalore. 25th August - 52 killed in 2 bomb blasts in Mumbai.
  • 2003 (The year my family migrated) in India! 2nd May - A Muslim mob in Kerela commits the Marad massacre. 14th July - India refuses to send troops to Iraq. 31st May - Prime minister: Vajpayee has the rare honor of joining the head table at the 300th foundation day of St. Petersburg with George W. Bush.
  • Impacts on the source (India)! Due to my family moving out of India, India has potentially lost a qualified highly skilled works man in the electrical and electronics area. Along with that education money, an engineer, a teacher, a soft materials teacher, teacher aid, accountant, 2 students (who would have become workers), 3 adults  (population decrease by 5).
  • Impacts on the destination (New Zealand)! By allowing another 2 humans to enter Auckland they have gained a teacher, qualified highly skilled works man in the electrical and electronics area. Along with that an engineer, a soft materials teacher, teacher aid, accountant, 2 students (who will become successful kiwi workers) and 3 adults (population increase by 5).
