  • Thales was born in circa 624 BC in Miletus. Miletus was an ancient city, which is now Turkey this day. Miletus is a beautiful place to visit, for pictures just look up the city Miletus! Thales was just a regular baby in Miletus, but he had a legacy to make in the future!

  • Thales had a good childhood overall. His mother was a famous poet, Cleobulina. His family belonged to the famous Phoenicians. His father, Examyes, was just a regular ancient person, but soon the father of a legend. Theyboth died circa 550 BC.
  • What Is He Famous For?
  • Geometry: the shape and relative arrangement of the parts of something.
  • Thales belonged to Asia Minor and was among the Seven Sages of Greece. He had lots of friends in school and he had lots of friends and partners. Thales was the smartest student in class, probably even in the school. If it wasn't for his education, his legacy would have never been made.
  • How do We Use What he is Famous for?
  • Thales never got into a relationship with anyone, nor had kids or even adopted one. His life was supported by himself and some of his friends. Although, in his spare time he did influence two people, whom made brilliant discoveries in the future. Anaximenes and Pythagoras were influenced by Thales to find a philosopher and founder of movement.
  • Thales has been called the founder of Philosophy ever since he discovered something amazing. Thales had discovered geometry, and all of the things that we can do with it. He measured pyramids, and predicted correctly that a solar eclipse was going to happen.
  • Thales has made everything easier for us today. With his discovery, we can now measure things and predict weather, and even find out anything shape related. We can measure stage curtains, walls, floors, etc. If it was not for Thales, our lives would be harder, and we would not know any measurements or calculations.
