  • Child Story 1: "Before I came to Ruben Centre I used to have to help my mum in the market each day. My dad works away from home so there was no one else to help her. Now my mum has a job locally which means I can go to school again. I am thankful for new school"

  • Child 2 Story: "Before I met the Brothers I did whatever I wanted. I didn't really care about anyone else, but now I can see that there are other options. I help to keep the Banado street clean and Br.X has helped me to get back to my studies. I even went on an immersion project working with some guys from university to build houses for the poor. That made me realised I could do something to help, I am important. Now I want to help others in my own banado. We have houses and we can have much more. I am thankful for my home."

  • Child 3 Story: Before I came to St. Mary's I lived in the railway station in town. It was really scary, I never felt safe. Now, I get to sleep in my own bed, I have friends to play with and a school to go to. I love being in school, we get to learn and play games and it's like having one big family. Every day I am thankful for my friends and my teachers,because they are my family now.
