  • Election of 1860 and Conflicting Views on Slavery
  • I'm Abraham Lincoln at this point in life had won the election of 1860, and i am now the president, I was very adamant against slavery and want it to end.
  • Dred Scott Case, Nullification, and Missouri Compromise
  • The Scotts are still saves is still a slave!
  • Sadly, this decision pushed the country further on the path to war
  • Sucession debate in GA and Alexander Stephan
  • We need to secede to protect slavery and the southern way of life!
  • But even Alexander Stephens from our home state, Georgia, disapproves of secession while encouraging slavery!
  • They made the wrong decision, only more bloodshed will arise
  • Most of the northern states voted for Abraham Lincoln because of his views on slavery, as a republican he wanted to abolish slavery. His views conflicted with the views of the south which is why is name wasn't even on most southern ballots
  • States Rights
  • The federal government makes decisions for all states. States can not decided to secede!
  • The rule of the supreme court made the Missouri compromise nullified, or void, after they said that Dred Scott was still a slave despite venturing into a free state and then his master dying. This decision further divided the country into abolitionists and pro-slavery
  • Kansas-Nebraska act
  • This just led to the chaos and death surrounding kansas, it even was called bleeding kansas.
  • Georgia debated leaving the union but ultimately they left after a general assembly vote. Ironically Alexander Stephens became the confederate vice president despite begin against secession.
  • The Georgia Platform and Compromise of 1850
  • We Approve!
  • This was a good decision but only slowed the conflict.
  • When the southern states could not rely on the federal government to help their lifestyle they turned to the issue of states rights in order protect slavery.
  • This debate only hurt the states and pushed our country further into the despair of war...
  • If the federal government won support our lifestyle we need to rely on states rights to support slavery!
  • The Kansas- Nebraska act determined free and slave states by a method known as popular sovereignty.
  • We need to remove the 3630 line and use popular soveirgnty to decide if their free or slave
  • The Georgia Platform´s decision to approve the Compromise of 1850, which created the 36 30 line, stopped the Civil war for nearly a decade.
