This storyboard aims to highlight that kids are technological sponges and need adult supervision and limits on the amount of time they spend on tech. Kids need human engagement, they also need time outside, they need to play, use their imaginations and read stories (not on mobile devices!).

  • Madge is talking on her mobile phone and can't hear the door bell
  • Ring... Ring....!
  • ...yes Sian...it was so funny in school today...!
  • Madge's mum appears to find Madge on her phone oblivious to the doorbell ringing
  • Ring Ring....Ring Ring..!
  • Huh...?
  • Can't you hear the doorbell Madge?
  • Madge's mum rushes to the door but the delivery person has gone
  • Sorry mum....
  • I missed my delivery - thanks to you!
  • 'Meet Madge...she's been asked to listen out for the doorbell as her mum is expecting a delivery. But she seems to have other things on her mind....'
  • Madge mum's is angry and wants to teach Madge a lesson
  • I'm confiscating your phone till tomorrow!
  • 'Oh dear...Madge's mum appears to find Madge chatting to a friend on her mobile phone, totally oblivious to the sound of the doorbell ringing'
  • Madge's mum thinks Madge is becoming too obsessed with her phone
  • Sorry Madge but you're getting obsessed with this phone!
  • 'Madge's mum rushes to the door to find that the delivery person has been and gone. Needless to say...she's not very happy with Madge!'
  • Madge has found something else to focus on and doesn't hear the doorbell again
  • Ring Ring....Ring Ring..!
  • Madge...can you answer the door please...?
  • 'Madge's mum is furious with Madge and decides to teach her a lesson by confiscating her phone for 24 hours.'
  • Oh no...
  • 'Madge's mum also thinks that Madge is getting too obsessive about her phone as she uses it a lot....so she thinks that confiscating it for a while will do Madge some good....'
  • 'Uh oh.....Madge has found something else to focus her attention on and doesn't hear the doorbell again...!'
