Gatsby experiences a self vs self conflict in the beginning of his life when is James Gatz. He is a young boy with the dream of being rich and powerful, but the reality of his life is poor and weak.
Gatsby has many conflicts within society. Because he is not born into wealth he faces struggles with those who are. He is of new money, and those of old money do not except him. They constantly mock him and act as if he is north worthy of their time.
While in the city, Gatsby and Tom get into a heated argument over Daisy and who she loves. They yell and scream at each other just to prove to one another who is better and more worthy of her love.
