  • Let's name him Langston and his last name is going to be Hughes. 
  • Segregation
  • Grandma's Stories
  • Once, when I was with my husband....
  • Langston Hughes was born on February 1st in the year of Segregation. When he was very young, his parents separated. 
  • Going To School
  • Can't wait for school! Experiencing begins!
  • Langston Hughes was born in the year of segregation. Black and whites had to be separated to different places. His parents wanted the segregation to end.
  • Adult Life
  • When Langston's parents separated, he lived with his Grandmother. Langston's Grandmother would always tells stories. The one that was so special to her was about her husband. Langston liked these stories and asked for more.
  • Death and Legacy
  • When Langston got older, he went to school and got an education. He was in a great school that time. But, there was still segregation, so he had to go in different places in the school.
  • Langston Hughes wrote poems when he was at Harlem. It was a hard time to perfection the poems but Langston never gave up. His poems became famous in the future.
  • Langston Hughes died on May 22, 1967. He died of cancer. Like told you, Langston's poems became famous and they went from generation to generation.
