Do you have a coin to pay for the ferry?
In the Underworld of Greek Mythology the first place you go to is the River Styx. You must have a coin to pay for the fair of the ferry that you give to Charon, the boat driver.
The gate of the Underworld was guarded by a three-headed dog named Cerberus.
Once you pass Cerberus and enter the gates of the Underworld you must first be judged in trial by one of the three judges: Minos, Rhadamanthys, and Aeacus.
Sisyphus displeased the gods and did not pass through the judges. He was given the eternal punishment of pushing a huge rock up a hill; each time he reaches halfway up the hill with the rock it splits in half and rolls back down.
Some people after their trial were put in the Field of Asphodel. Once you enter the Field of Asphodel, you stay their waiting, forever. The souls that entered here were considered dead.
In the heartof the underworld lived Hades and his queen. Hades and his queen lived in a beautiful palace made of black rock where Hades ruled over everything and everyone.
