Shouldn't we check if this is true?
Yeah seems correct
No why would he lie to us
The universe revolves around us
I'm pretty sure the pope was wrong I should do my own test to see.
Galileo Galilei began running tests and studying celestial bodies to prove that Aristotle and in turn the pope was wrong, though he was able to prove that Aristotle and pope were wrong he was not able to find any tangible evidence that his heliocentric theory was correct
When Galileo proposed his theory he was met with disapproval, the catholic church did not believe Galileo and did not allow him to teach these ideas so instead of teaching them as he hoped Galileo wrote a book about heliocentric theory
Galileo was eventual able to prove his theory when with the help of Hans Lippershey invented the first high quality functioning telescope, he was now able to see celestial bodies much clearer and now saw that Jupiter had four moons orbiting around it meaning not everything revolved around the earth but when he showed this new evidence he was still met with disapproval and forced to sign a agreement that said he was unable to publish a book about his findings.
When pope urban was elected after pope Gregory died galileo decided to try again and show his findings but still was unable to move pope urban but he did allow him to write a book about his findings which showed both side equally though the church felt that the book favored strongly towards heliocentric ideas and it violated Galileo's first agreement with pope Gregory XI he was put under house arrest were he wrote down all of his knowledge and after he died was smuggled into Germany and a many other countries were a book was published about his findings
