  • 1. Exposition

  • 3. Climax
  • Doodle is born with many limitations, which make his family upset. He is born very small and red. Doodle's family expects him to pass away and not be able to do anything for himself.
  • 4. Falling Action
  • When their parents force Doodle's brother to take Doodle everywhere, Doodle's brother pushed Doodle's limits by making him do activities like walking, swimming, and running. Doodle learns how to do some of the activities, but others drain him too much.
  • 5. Resolution
  • Doodle's brother leaves him alone in the rain after Doodle fails to complete one of his tasks, even though the brother knows that being too wet is bad for Doodle.
  • 6. Conflict
  • Doodle's brother goes back for Doodle, after feeling guilty for leaving him, and finds him curled up under a tree, not moving.
  • Doodle's brother finds him lying in the rain dead with blood coming out of his mouth. Doodle's brother weeps and covers Doodle's body from the rain.
  • Doodle's brother warns Doodle that being different is bad and that Doodle should fit in, showing a theme of Man vs Society because Doodle feels like he has to fit in and be normal.
