All dainty were the forest groves, and the early birds chatter
'Twas morning and the slimy toads, did turn and tumble in the lake
"Beware the Jabberwock my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the bluebird and shun the frivolous bandit!"
He took his shining sword in hand; Long time the dangerous foe he sought-So he rested by the Plum tree and stood awhile in thought
And as in deepest thought he stood The Jabberwock with eyes of flame, Came huffing throught the thickest wood and groumbled as it came
One, two! One, two! and through and through The shining blade went whirr and whack! He left it dead and with its head He went stomping back
"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O joyous day! Hooray! Hooray! He chortled in his joy.
