  • The Great Barrier Reef is a link of reefs that create the largest coral reef in the world. It is the breeding ground for over 200 types of birds, including land-dwelling ones.
  • The GBR is constantly being hurt though. Pollution, coral bleaching, and even coral disease.
  • Fun Fact: A person who studies coral reefs is a coral reef coral reef biologist.
  • Sadly, many people are careless and dump waste into the water around the reef. They also break off pieces that they could take home, but that hurts the coral too much.
  • Luckily, many people are studying this beautiful reef. They are all looking for a way to keep it safe, and to maintain this natural beauty's- well- beauty.
  • Fun Fact: There are 600 types of hard and soft coral located in the GBR.
