Mars the god of war had two sons, Romulus and Remus
The twins were abandoned on the bank of the River Tiber.
A she-wolf found the twins and fed them
Later a shepherd discovered Romulus and Remus and brought them up as his own sons.
When they had grown up Romulus and Remus decided to build a town. The twins argued about who should be in control of the town
Romulus killed Remus and became the first king of the new town, which he named Rome after himself
