Born 1270s. Little is known about his early life.
Edward 1st of England made himself Scottish Ruler while there were problems in Scotland.
William killed an English Sheriff and that started a rebellion against Edward.
William defeated the English Army at the battle of Stirling Bridge. The bridge collapsed and the English soldiers drowned.
William was knighted by a nobleman and ruled in the Scottish kings name.
The English and Scottish army fought again and the English defeated the Scots.
William left Scotland and went to France. He was later brought back and tried for treason.
William was executed in 1305. He was about 35 years old.
