Grendel , the wicked and wrathful monster, prowled through the forest with heavy steps. The wieght of his massive body slashed through the mighty trees with ease. Grendel wason the hunt for prey. Not animal but of the human kind.
Upon reaching the enormous castle herot, Grendel lurked through the damp moonlight waiting for an opportunity to enter the dark slumbering castle. Little did the beast know his greatest battle lie in waiting for him on the otherside. For Beowulf was awake and prepared for this vicious evil monster.
As Beowulf lie in wait for Grendel, he thought of Hrothgar and the mighty warriors he came from afar to protect. He could not let these kinsman down nor would he. Bravery and strength were on his side. Heart pounding, muscles building, Beowulf heard the vicious beast enter the hall. Creeping and slithering in the firelight he could smell the stench of the unkept monster moving closer and closer.
Grendel entered the room where Beowulf stood in wait, prepared for battle. The two soldiers, one of good and one of evil fought with all their might. Beowulf overtook Grendel with strength and wounded the massive monster sending him shrieking in pain. Beowulf knew he had the beast at his mercy. he raised his sword in the air and pushed the sword through the arm of Grendel. what monster could live through that! With crimson blood pouring out onto the the cold stone floor the sound of cracking bone shattered through the castle. The whailing of Grendel could be heard through the night sky.
Death was sure to come to this wretched coward. The evil soul of the beast slowly oozed out of his body as he slithered back into the depths of the cold damp marsh. He was dying and Beowulf had saved Herot and villages afar.
Beowulf was a brave hero! He protected Horathgar's people and saved them from the deadly grasps of the evil Grendel. The moonlight nights of slumbering warriors and their families would be peaceful once again. Beowulf forever the strong warrior hero.
