A month has passed after Lennie's incident. George is working again on the farm to try to get more money. After he gets more money, George is planning to leave with Candy to get the ranch that they dreamed of.
Candy and George start talking about how they wanted to leave the farm already. They both discussed about how much money they have saved. According to the both of them they have just enough to leave so now they're ready to part ways with the farm.
George and Candy work up the courage to talk to the Boss to tell them that they're leaving. The boys step into his office and ask to speak to him and so George tells him what's happening. At first the Boss was mad but he understood that they wanted to get a place of their own. So after that they started packing their stuff.
After George and Candy had packed their belongings they sneaked out of the bunkhouse so nobody could know that they're leaving. They were devastated to leave their friends but they had to get and live their own life. George and Candy hit the road because it was a long way to go. The trop would probably take 2 days for them so they left as soon as possible
Two days after walking and walking, George and Candy finally arrive at their ranch and they couldn't be more happy. Even though both of them were exhausted out of their minds, they were filled with joy and all they could to is smile.
Candy and George were tending the rabbits because they both know that's what reminded them of Lennie. Even though they knew that Lennie was gone they continued to be happy for themselves because that's what Lennie would have wanted
