  • Hi, my name is Scout.
  • Intelligent, but troublesome
  • I already know how to read.
  • Who taught you to read ?? You should not know how to read yet
  • A lot of pride, but it makes her do bad thing sometimes
  • I'm gonna beat you up
  • "Somehow, if I fought Cecil I would let Atticus down. Atticus so rarely asked for Jem and me to do something for him, I could taking being called a coward for him" (Lee 102)
  • Some of her family disagrees with her father's values
  • "as I read the alphabet a faint line appeared between her eyebrows, and after making me read most of My First Reader and the stock-market quotations from The Mobile Register aloud, she discovered that I was literate and looked at me with more than faint distaste." (Lee 22)
