King Tantalus wanted to be greater than anyone... Even the gods! He devised an evil plan.
King Tantalus killed his own son and cooked him in a stew! He would invite the gods to dinner and serve the stew! Then the gods would look stupid eating human flesh! Then he could blackmail them forever!
King Tantalus served the soup to the gods. So far, his evil plan was working!
Before they ate the soup, the gods discovered King Tantalus's evil plan. They were very angry, so they cursed King Tantalus.
King Tantalus was forced to sit on an island, surrounded by water, and under a fruit tree. However, he was not aloud to eat or drink. Without King Tantalus, the gods were happy again!
