  • But we have to make this look good for future generations, Robert
  • So we declared independence... How are we going to run this government?
  • ... Definitely not with a monarchy! Lets make taxes optional though, so we end up with crippling debt!

  • Tonight: FEDERALISTS VS. ANTI-FEDERALISTS
  • We need a strong, central government!

  • Super secret constitutional conventional thingie
  • 'tis a great compromise indeed
  • Lets make a compromise... a GREAT compromise!
  • So it seems that we have to listen to both sides, Virginia and New Jersey
  • The Members of the constitutional convention decided to make 3 branches, one based on a president, one based on population, and one based on equal power of each state. Each branch was in charge of checking the others to make sure no branch gets too much power (separation of powers)

  • So it seems that we need to write down peoples rights, while also interpreting them from what is already written. Lets Just write a really broad set of rights.
  • Sounds good, but we still haven't figured out how to count votes. Should slaves be counted or not?

  • Neither. Lets just come up with a random fraction and say that that's how many people a slave counts for in the total population
