  • Odysseus was warned about the sirens but didn't tell his shipmates about it. 
  • The Sirens: Conflict
  • So as his men were rowing, they started to hear the sirens voice as she sang. Getting closer and closer. 
  • "Her legs—and there are twelve—are like great tentacles, unjointed, and upon her serpent necks are borne six heads like nightmares of ferocity, 50 with triple serried rows of fangs and deep gullets of black death."
  • "Son of Laertes and the gods of old, Odysseus, master of land ways and sea ways, why leave the blazing sun, O man of woe, to see the cold dead and the joyless region? Stand clear, put up your sword; let me but taste of blood, I shall speak true."
  • This beasts killed many of the men on the ship and all the other men died from Charybdis. 
  • Land of the Dead: Character trait (loyalty) In this story, you can see how loyal odysseus was to Penelope by what he is doing just get home to her.
  • You must go to the land of the dead and talk to Telemachus to get your fortune. Then you will come back and tell me your fortune, if I believe you you may leave.
  • Odysseus fights off ghosts who want blood.
