A periscope is a tube attached to a set of mirrors or prisues by which and observer can see things that are otherwise out of sight
Periscopes are usually found on submarines
And they were used in the trenches in World War I
And they were used in old commerical air liners
These periscopes can be very useful in many situations although they are not used as much today but they were crucial in WWI and the early 1900s
It consists of 2 45.O degree mirrors that allows the observer to see out the other side and also see the other side and also see things he would not be able to see in his normal line of sight.
In 1854 Hippolyte Marie Davy Invented the first naval para scope consisting of a vertical tube with two small mirrors fixed at the end at 45 degree and they were first used in submarines in 1902
