Macbeth is ruthless throughout the play and if he needs to he will kill and murder even close friends for power and authority. This shows him murdering MacDonald the Thane of Cawdor. After this he become the Thane of Cawdor.
Macbeth shows true love to his wife and this is expressed throughout the play, he will do whatever his wife says and obeys every word but at a point Lady Macbeth becomes depressed and commits suicide.
He later kills King Duncan, like instructed to by his wife and later all his family in order to take the throne. He thinks Banquo, his best friend might know he did it, so instructs for him to be killed also.
