FACTS- She is the patron goddess of Athens, she was born out of Zeus's head fully grown and in full armor, said to be Zeus's favorite child
Signs: owl, the Aegis, arms and armor, olive tree
Her biggest rivalry is with Poseidon, god of the sea.
Her rivalry with Poseidon started when the people of a town needed to choose a patron god/goddess, Athena or Poseidon.
Poseidon provided them with a spring and Athena provided an olive tree.
When they tried to drink the water, it was too salty, but the olive tree provided food, oil, and shade. So, they chose Athena as their patron goddess.
