In this scene the Less Goodman's car starts up while all of his neighbor's electricity doesn't work. The neighbors become suspicious and start calling Les the monster.
In this scene Charlie shoots and kills Pete Van Horn. He did this because he was scared and thought it was the monster.
This scene shows the aliens just turning off the electricity and some other things and then the people on Maple Street start to turn on each other creating a rampage throughout the whole street.
"The only monsters are themselves."
This supports the theme, "Fear and suspicion can lead to violence. " by showing how the people in the story have turned on their well known neighbor because of their suspiciouns.
