I need to do homework...but I honestly don't have the energy.
I'm fine, mom. I'll see you later.
Honey, you look pale. Why don't you stay home today and get some rest?
Dani sat on her bed, her head throbbing from the massive migraine. She had so much work to do, yet no time to get it done. She thought about just going to bed, but what good would that do? Stay up and just get it done.
As Dani rushed to get out the door, her mother stopped her. The last thing she wanted to do was stay home with her all day. At least away from her she could feel somewhat normal.
Dani finally got to school, making sure the girl's room was clear. She evenly separated 3 lines of her stash with her credit card and sucked in in. Her head rushed with pain, her sinuses burning. Euphoria came soon to comfort her. 30 minutes until dismissal.
As she finally walked through her bedroom door, she took out her baggie and made three more lines. Right as she sniffled up the second line, her mother came through her door asking about the Thanksgiving dinner for that night. She was busted.
The day reflected her mood: gray, gloomy, and just disgusting. She loved these days, but today was therapy. She had been forced to get clean and stay clean for 2 weeks now. It was Hell.
The downward spiral had ended around Christmas. I have officially been clean for about a month and two weeks. She is still trying to convince herself that this is for the better and her addiction was not actually helping her. sometimes the best things in life that make us feel good could be the thing to end your life.
