  • Thomas Jefferson said to Lewis and Clark to explore the Louisiana purchase and to find a new water route.
  • Mr. President, Clark and I will do it.
  • They found some Indians and traded with them and learned about food and survial skills.
  • Thank you for trading with us, but now Clark and I must leave.
  • They reached some mountains and spotted food and used skills the Indians told them.
  • The Louisiana purchase was a very large and expensive purchase nearly costing 15 million dollars.  
  • They finally reached the ocean.
  • They ran into some Indians that soon followed them back to Saint Louis. 
  • On their way back they set up camp. Clark was righting down scientific findings because that was plan B if they found no water route. 
  • They soon found food and got to eat it.
  • They returned 2 years later.
  • They reached the Pacific Ocean in about a year when they left. 
  • Clark we reached the end so now we need to go back.
  • On their way back they picked up the Indians. 
  • They made it back in 1816 which was 2 years from when they left. 
  • We made it back with trading goods but found no water route.
